My Qualifications

Counselling

I began working in the field in 1987 and completed a Masters degree in Clinical Social Work, (counselling families, groups and individuals) in 1991. I wrote my master's thesis in the area of Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse. I have been in private practice since 2002. Recently, I received a Trauma Certificate from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2023.

I am a registered social worker and have been a member of the college since 1993. As a member of the College, I understand, support and adhere to the code of ethics for social work. I have been an examiner for the admission of new members to the college of social work. The examinations emphasized an understanding of the code of ethics.

I was a field supervisor for first and second year Master of Social Work students from 1994 to 1996.

Reiki

I have completed the master’s level training in Reiki. I am sensitive to other people’s energy and have been involved in energy work and exploring alternate states of consciousness since I began meditating in 1968.
